How soon do I hear anything?
About 20 to 40 seconds after the throw. It talks to you while it works — how long it will be, and what you are working on — then tells you what to change. Turn the disc measurements off and it comes back in a few seconds.
Do I need a tripod?
No. Anything that holds the phone up and can see you works — a bag, a fence, a chair. The coach tells you if it cannot see you properly and waits for you to fix it.
Do I need anything on my disc?
No sensor, no marker, nothing to buy. The disc is measured from the video of your own throw, which is also why that part wants a camera that films in slow motion.
Will it work on my phone?
The coaching works on any phone that can film you, in a browser or in the Android app. The disc numbers need a slow-motion camera — a Galaxy S9 from 2018 has one, some new budget phones do not — and the coach tells you what yours gives it.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet. On an iPhone or an iPad, use the browser version: the coaching is the same, and it is the disc measurements that want the Android app.
Does it work in a browser?
Yes, and it is the quickest way to see what it does — open it and throw. The Android app is what you install once you want the disc measured too.
Do I have to touch the phone between throws?
No, and that is the point. A raised hand means throw again, both hands up means move on — the hand signals run the whole session. The phone stays where you put it until you pack up.
What about forehand?
Forehand coaching is coming soon. Backhand is what it coaches today, standing still or with a full run-up.
Is my video kept?
On Pro, your last 10 throws are kept so you can watch them back, and older ones drop off on their own. Without Pro no video of you is kept at all once the throw has been coached. Either way you can download everything we hold about you, or delete the lot, whenever you like.
Does it need a signal?
Yes. Your throw is worked out while you are still standing where you threw it, so the phone needs a connection to do it.
Is it accurate?
It is built from professional throws that were actually measured, not from rules of thumb. And when it is not sure, it says nothing — you will not be sent off to fix something that was never wrong.
Can I turn off things I don't want to hear?
Anything it might say to you can be silenced for good, along with how much it says, which voice it uses and how fast it talks. If something annoys you, it never has to come up again.
